SAM & MAXWELL'S STORY.

Hiya everyone. This is one of the stories am working on. Work has been really crazy and when i finally get to my room all i want to do is just fire off. Pls bear wif me, i will post the rest as soon as i finish. (Dnt mind any typos, i typed this in a rush cos am at work at the moment).

Enjoy.

‘’ Surprise!’’ Everyone yelled as Maxwell brought Samantha to the well decorated room. Everywhere was filled with colourful balloons with ‘’Happy birthday Samantha’’ boldly written on them. There was a huge birthday cake standing in a corner and there was another petite chocolate cake made in form of Sam’s Fendi bag. It was her birthday some days back and Maxwell had pretended to have forgotten his wife’s 35th birthday. ‘’ Oh my gosh! Sam said cupping her mouth with her left hand, Babe i love you so much.  All these for me? I thought you had forgotten my birthday ‘’.

‘’ That’s the idea hun Lara, Sam best friend said from the crowd; she made her way through the crowd and hugged her friend. They had been friends since college . They had been through thick and thin, when Sam’s father lost his battle to cancer, Lara was there for her, they are more or less like sisters.

‘’ Thank you so much Lara, you are the sister i don’t have, i appreciate you my good friend’’. Sam said as she hugged her friend tight.

‘’Happy birthday Sam.’’ Mrs Alfred, Sam’s neighbour said as she handed her the shiny and beautifully wrapped box. ‘’ Thanks Mrs Alfred, Sam said as she slightly bent down to great Mrs Alfred. Even though Sam had spent literally all her life in Newyork, she hadn't forgotten that African culture her mother always instilled in her before she decided to move back to Nigeria where she came from.

Sam and Max had been married for five years. Sam loved Maxwell so much, the best thing that ever happened to her. Max was her everything, her best friend, her all.  Back in high school where they had met, Sam was this freaky nerdy genius everyone used to make fun of. She wore cloths that the other kids called ‘’uncool’’. No one wanted to be her friend; no one ever invited her to slumber parties and cool high school parties.  Maxwell on the other hand was a total opposite; he was the ladies’ man.  He rocked the whole school with his cool outfits. Usually baggy jeans and over-sized tees. Everyone loved Max. Girls wanted to be with him and to be seen with him, guys wanted to be him.

They actually really met after Sam was being teased because she wore braces to school one day and Max was the one that came to her rescue.  She couldn’t believe her ears; her luck when Max asked her out. She agreed to date Max and her life changed dramatically. She went from the uncool girl to the one of the most popular kid in school.  Nineteen years on, they were still together, married.

Despite the love they shared and how successful they were something was lacking. A child to call their own. They had visited different hospitals, Sam was placed on  clomifene,  a fertility drug but all to no avail. Now at 35, she was more desperate than ever.

‘’ Maybe we should adopt.’’ Sam told Max one afternoon. Sipping his iced tea, Max disagreed. He wanted his own child. ‘’ We will have our child soon honey. I don’t like the idea of adoption, besides i am not complaining’’.  Sam loved her husband for this. Since they have been in search for a child, he hasn’t for once complained. ‘’ You are God sent Max.  Most men would have complained or worst of all have an affair with another woman. Thank you my dear and i hope i get pregnant in due time, i really wanna make you happy, i wanna make you complete.’’ Sam said as she kissed her husband passionately. Holding her hands and looking into her big hazel eye. ‘’ I feel complete anytime i look at you. I feel complete because i am married to you. ‘’ he said cupping her cheeks with his palms and planting a soft kiss on her forehead.

CIRCULAR DATING

Happy easter people. There is something that i really need to know other's people honest opinion about. Its circular dating. As a good Christian, i mean a born again Christian is this allowed? Some one once told me that you cannot chase two rats at a time cos its likely not to catch any of them. I think the reason why alot of people do circular dating is the far of heart break.

So as a christian, is it allowed?

Once again, Happy easter y'all.

Africans on buses and other stuff

Hello People, how are we doing, good? I thought so too. Its amazing how time flies, i remember when we yelled HAPPY NEW YEAR! its now almost the end of April. Am also glad summer is finally here, so goodbye jumpers and turtle necks and hello maxi dresses and skimpy wears.   I wanna say a big thank you to all the people following and commenting on my blog, i really appreciate you guys. Anyways i have a lil something to rant about today and i also wanna know your opinions about couple of things.

First, i  would like to say something about Africans on buses. Is it just me or does anyone think we tend to yell alot when we are talking on the phone? Geez! Africans especially Nigerians  can shout, kilode? (why). i was on the bus today and this man was yelling on the phone, i was trying to catch some sleep but his voice was just way to loud, not that i was eavesdropping, but i just couldn't help to listen to what he was saying. ( apparently he sent some cash to Nigeria and the receiver was unable to cash the money). Yeah, so that for that.
I  read this book some months back and the question at the end was IS IT GOOD TO SNOOP ON UR PARTNER? I think its inappropriate cos you will just give your self unnecessary high blood pressure plus it doesn't hurt to give him or her the benefit of the doubt.

The second question was CAN YOU DATE YOUR FRIEND'S EX? My answer is if the brother is hawt  why not?? Nah am just kidding, its not nice cos if  any of  friend tries to date any of my ex, i wouldn't like it. So over to you guys what do you think?

WHERE IS THIS WORLD GOING TO?

Came across this on facebook and i just had to share it.

This was the scenario & altercation between a mother & her 25yr old son recently in Gwagwalada area of FCT, Abuja. As  as the story came to light that the young man who is said to be a 2nd yaer student of the University of Abuja has impregnated his biological mother & the pregnancy ic now running in the ninth month.
The expossion of the whole evil & sordid act came to light when the youmg man who confessed to have been sleeping with his mother since 2007 confidedwith one of his friends, a student of the same institution. The evil & sordid act he was having with his own mother, the pregnancy & how he lost his fathersince 2006.

It was learnt that as soon as the young man, Francis Igbude reveals the secret to his friend whose name is  Geofrey Edojarefe, he refused to keep the story secret but disclosed it to his pastor-father who is sasid to be the G.O of the Christ Restoration Church, Agwandodo, Gwagwalada area of Abuja who invited the young man & advised him to confess the whole story so as to come out clean or face the wrath of God. Sources discloses that the pastor & his wife were shell-shoked when they first got the whole storyn from the young man about how his mother lure him into the act as far back as 2007, how they have both terminated five pregnancies  & why the mother is keeping this present pregnancy because Dr had warned that it will be suicidal to abort again. Consequently, Pst Edojarefe invited both mother & son to his church where they eventually confessed both with different tales. While the mother claimed that the act occurred once when she was drunk which prompted her to force her son to have fun with her, the son confronted her that the abomination actually started since 2007, few months after his father died. That both of them have terminated five pregnancies in the course of their affinity & why they are keeping the present pregnancy due to the advice of Dr that his mother will loose her life if she attempt abortion again. It was a shocked congregation who pleaded with the FCDA senior staff to confess wholly to the sin as her has done so as to come out clean to get the desired forgiveness of God. But she totlly objected & insisted on her story.

This is a shocking and disturbing story. I really don't understand where this world is going, may God help us.

Hiya everyone, Today's blogging will be about some general stuff. I am working on 2 new stories and i pray i finish them as soon as possible so that i can upload them. Anyways i always have this argument with my friends as to weather or not to say Thank you to the  bus driver when u come off the bus. I personally think its unnecessary. Here in London (  I don't know about other places) you need to pay £2.20 on every bus you get on or better still top-up £4.00 on your oyster card, so why on earth should i say  Thank you ? not that i got on the bus for free or i paid half price... i really don't understand the reason for it. I had an argument with a friend because of this issue and he said that saying 'thank you' is just of appreciating the driver's effort for driving you and for dropping you off at your destination, my response to him  was IS THAT NOT HIS JOB? Please people what do you think? I need to be convinced if it's really necessary to say thank you.

WHY ME GOD?

I was reading some scriptures online and came-across this, so i thought i should share it with you guys. I hope you are blessed through this.

Why Me, God? - A Common Question
I'm sure you are asking, "Why me, God?" because something has happened that caused you to feel somehow singled out. Perhaps you feel that God must be punishing you for some reason. Why else would this be happening to you? Be assured. You are not alone. God has not abandoned you and He has not singled you out, no matter how you feel right now. Whatever you are going through, God's promise is that He will see you through and give you the strength and direction you need. God wants you to know that He understands how you feel, that He knows more about your situation than you do, and that He saw it coming before you did. Above all, He began to work on His resolution for you before you even knew to ask! The reality here is that God is for you. He is not against you.

Why Me, God? - An Erred Belief System

Our feelings of "Why me, God?" are real. They are based on real events, but our conclusions may not be accurate. While we don't want to minimize the pain you feel in any way, we do want to try to help you look more closely at why you feel singled out and whether or not you've arrived at a valid conclusion. The answers to why we conclude anything, even why we question God's intent or purpose in any event, can be found in our highly individualized network of beliefs.

We absorb our beliefs from our parents, teachers, life experiences, books, etc. Some of what we have come to believe may sound right, but in reality our views might be too narrowly defined or inaccurate. We have bought into many ideas and concepts that distort our right thinking and actually work against us. For example, we have learned untruths that cause us to live the role of the victim, either of circumstances or of our past. These erred beliefs cause us to cry out in pain, "Why me, Lord?"

God's answer is that we are not victims but victors. God has said that we can trust Him in everything and that every event in our lives should be counted as ALL joy (James 1:2). He has also told us that He will cause good to come out of every situation for those who love Him (Romans 8:28). When we ask "Why me, God" it's really because we don't believe God. Our belief system opposes God, so we feel singled out and victimized.

Most of us believe, at least on some level, that we need to understand everything. We just need to know why. When we don't, we may feel God has betrayed us in some way. In reality, it's not God who is confusing us or betraying us, it is our belief system. All those inconsistent, partially correct beliefs cause us to question God's fairness in what we are experiencing. For example, somewhere in our belief system, we may have come to believe that we deserve to be blessed because we have been diligent to honor God, been a good person, fed the hungry, or helped our neighbor. We often believe that the things we do should keep us from harm's way. Then when something bad happens, we are confused and ask God why.

why Me, God? - Changing our Thinking
When something happens that deeply touches us, we often ask, "Why me, God?" We are quick to judge the event as good or bad. What if we were to eliminate the possibility that anything that happens to us is inherently bad and choose to believe that everything that happens to us isalways good? Impossible, you say? It has to be one or the other, doesn't it?

Belief systems are changeable. When we discover that something we have believed, even for a long time, is no longer valid, can we not simply change our mind and fully embrace the new? If you are crying out "Why me, God?" you must believe there is a God out there who hears you and you have hoped He would answer you. Maybe there was a time when you didn't believe there was a God at all. If you changed your mind and opened your life to God, then you can also change your mind about judging events as being bad for you.

When we choose to believe that ALL the events in our life are good for us, even the ones that seem frustrating and painful for now, we are agreeing with God! When we choose to believe and trust God that there will always be a good outcome, we are trusting Him! Only God knows why we are going through these circumstances. Our new dialogue with God will be, "God, this is going to be an interesting journey. I'm excited to see how you are going to bring good out of this one. I trust you will!

What do you think??

Good evening peeps, whats popping? I can't believe this week is almost over, i really can't wait for it to be over i swear down, anyways i  watched a program on BBC1, its called THE ONE SHOW. So they said something about banning Muslims  from wearing veil in public places. I honestly think this is a bad idea as wearing veil is part of their religion, though i heard its optional, you don't have to wear it if you don't want to. So people what do you think about think?

Do you support banning or restricting the Mulim veil in anyway? If so where and why?

BETRAYED

Yinka Adeogun is the guest author for this week. Yinka is an an upcoming author, he enjoys writing poetries and short stories. Here is one of his work, enjoy!

I am as drunk as hell. I can barely see where I am going; I stagger down the steps of the railway station, oblivious of the world, drowning in a sea of hopelessness and despair. I feel the bile rise to my mouth, I feel like throwing up but I manage to swallow down the biter contents. My life has no more meaning to me, am just a zombie walking around aimlessly. Ever since that cruel night, the world as I know it has crumbled before my face, all around me, life has since seized to have meaning anymore. I seek solace in the cold hands of death.

I check the train time; it says that the next train to come would be in 15 minutes. I think to myself in the next 15 minutes I would say bye-bye to this cruel world, full of bitterness, pain and hurt. I have made my mind up and have no regrets; I am going to jump in front of the train and end my life. I laugh bitterly alone in the darkness, my mind clouded with the alcohol and marijuana in my system.

I know what you thinking, that I am insane. You probably wondering what would make a young man like me want to take his life. Let me tell you my story and then you would reason with me on my course of action.

Growing up I never really believed in falling in Love. When my young sister Funke watched those fairy-tale cartoons of the Handsome Prince meeting the beautiful Princess and saving her life, I usually made fun of her, laughed and called her a dreamer. You see, I was a Ladies-Man and was never really interested in a girl to settle down with her that long. My friends knew me as a Player who broke countless ladies hearts. My best mate who was always my roommate Uche could write you  a whole chapter of girls coming to his place begging him to plead on their behalf for me to work things out with them. But as always I turned a deaf ear to their cries, already ‘’on to the next one’’ as my favourite singer Jay-z would say.

Ever since my Mom walked out on us and left my Dad with two little kids to bring up on his own, I grew up swearing to myself that I would never love another woman as long as I breathe. I grew up watching my Father turn to an emotional, alcoholic wreck all because of the love he had for a woman- my mother. My father was once a vibrant man, full of love for life, his wife and his kids. That was till he got betrayed when his so called wife, my mother left him for a Rich Alhaji when things were difficult. My dad never recovered from this and he became a shadow of his old self. This radically changed my view of love and I vowed never to give any woman the chance to hurt me that way. My heart was mine to guard jealously, like a stolen treasure.

All that changed when I met Adija, the girl with the soft brown eyes. On that fateful day, I was strolling back home after another gruelling day of lectures, you see I am in my final year in University, studying Philosophy, in University of Lagos, (Unilag). I was lost in thought, thinking about the topic we had in class, oblivious of the beautiful angel walking in my directing, till I bumped into her. The books she held in her hands spilled unto the floor, scattering all around. I quickly offered my apologized and bent down to help her to pick up her items. Our fingers locked as we both grabbed the same book; it was a novel written by Chinua Achebe entitled Things Fall Apart. It was as if I got tasered when our fingers touched, her fingers felt warm and soft. I looked up and gazed into the most beautiful brown eyes I ever seen. Her eyes sparkled with warmth and the corners creased as she smiled. I immediately took in her soft red lips, the thickness of her long black hair, her lovely brown skin the colour of honey and the dimples on her face as she smiled. Her teeth reminded me of the toot-paste adverts I had watched countless times on Television; they were straight and pearly white. I could hear my heart beating faster and faster, I was sure she could hear it to.

I quickly introduced myself as Femi and she told me her name was Adija. I asked her if she was reading the novel Things Fall Apart and she nodded in the affirmative. I told her that was my favourite African novel, telling her how I enjoyed reading it countless time. She told me she was reading it for one of her courses as she was studying English Literature.

From that day on me and Adija became friends and usually spent time together; having lunch together, going to the movies and generally enjoying each others company. Before we both knew it, our friendship became closer and we began spending more time with each other, becoming inseparable.  Slowly but surely, we began to fall in love with each other. All my heart’s resistance to love melted with this angelic like woman. She showed me what true love was and even though I tried dodging Cupid’s arrow, my shield of resistance broke into pieces with the tender love she showed me.

Uche my best mate teased me continuously when he found out that Adija and I were dating. He jokingly asked me what happened to the Femi he knew. I told him that she had cooked a delicious meal laced with the most powerful love potion, making me fall helplessly in love with her. We both laughed at the joke. Adija who sat at the corner of the room smiled and said that we guys were not serious. She was a regular visitor to my room and I had introduced her to Uche my best friend and roommate.

On the last Friday of the month, I decided to go home to see my family. I bade farewell to my love Adija and friend Uche telling them that I would be back on Monday.  My sister was surprised when I told her that I was in a serious relationship and had a proper girlfriend now. You see, she never believed that my hard heart could melt with the burning fire of love.

As fate would have it, I decided to return back to campus a day earlier than planned, as I remembered I had a meeting with the Head of Department on Monday morning. I however did not tell Uche or Adija my beloved that I would be coming back.

As I walked into the campus, I had a sense of foreboding that something distasteful was about to unfold. I shrugged it off as I gaily walked towards my room. I opened the front door and walked into the room, the light was switched off. I switched it on and low and behold I saw my best mate Uche making love to a woman. I stifled a giggle, apologized and turned to leave, till I saw the girl’s face from the corner of my eye and realised that this wasn’t any other girl, this was Adija, the Love of my life, in the loving embrace of my best friend.

I was paralyzed on the spot, shocked by the events unfolding before my very eyes. Obscenities flew from my lips; my veins were filled with rage and hatred for them. How could they betray me like this? How could she pay me back for al the love I showered her? They started begging me, telling me that this was the first time & it was a mistake. I cursed both of them, called them unprintable names, picked up my bag and walked out of the house.

My perfect world was crumbling right before my very eyes. Tears of pain and anger filled my eyes and I screamed in frustration. Why is this happening to me I said over and over again in disbelief. How could they do this to me I asked myself. Why did I foolishly believe that true love existed I told myself. Love is nothing but pain and lies I vented in frustration. Life for me was too painful to live. I wanted to escape this sick, lying, back-stabbing world. I knew what to do, I would end it all.

I go into the nearest shop that sells alcohol and buy enough to drown a man. I find a deserted alley and begin to drink myself out of all the misery. After countless bottles, I head toward the railway station ready to end my life.

So now you know my story and you feel my pain, life for me has no meaning, the hurt in my heart can never be healed, I seek relief in the hands of Death. I check the time for the first train. In five minutes it would arrive. In five minutes I would say bye-bye to this cruel world and jump in front of an incoming train.
